Multiple Locations Across Unama'ki - Cape Breton
Please note, we have rescheduled three sessions of this series to allow for better attendance and engagement with community. The session in Ingonish will now be held on November 29, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the session in Chéticamp will now be held on December 4, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and the session in Port Hood will now be held on December 4, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. If you have any questions or would like to request a notification when this change has been made, please email jennifer@capebretonpartnership.com.
This series of sessions follows a previous series delivered by our organizations that ran from December 2023 to March 2024. During those sessions, we met with communities to discuss topics related to renewable energy, climate targets, offshore wind technology, and governance and regulatory framework development for an emerging OSW industry in Nova Scotia. Community members across Unama’ki – Cape Breton had an opportunity to share their thoughts on these topics, and their feedback was gathered into the Cape Breton Partnership’s What We Heard Report. A similar report for the entirety of Nova Scotia was released by Net Zero Atlantic and can be found here.
This second set of sessions is a continuation of Net Zero Atlantic’s project funded in part through the Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways program by Natural Resources Canada, and the Cape Breton Partnership’s Green Energy Engagement Program.
Our teams will provide you with an opportunity to learn up-to-date information about offshore wind and continue to share your thoughts. We will continue to amplify voices across Unama’ki – Cape Breton by compiling the feedback obtained into reports that will be shared with decision-makers.
We encourage pre-registration at the button below, which will ensure you receive any updates about the session you register for; however, we want to see everyone who is interested attend our sessions. Please feel free to attend whether you were able to register or not.
