The Cape Breton Partnership is pleased to host an interactive virtual workshop for local employers exploring how culture shapes the way we communicate, collaborate, and work together.

This Zoom Webinar will be delivered by Paul Pickering, Intercultural Workplace Program Coordinator with ISANS (Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia). Drawing on practical workplace experience, Paul will guide participants through key concepts related to cultural awareness and inclusion, with a focus on building stronger and more effective teams.

Participants will explore the role culture plays in everyday workplace interactions, including communication styles, expectations, and approaches to collaboration. The session will also introduce the concept of “cultural add,” shifting the conversation from cultural “fit” to how diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and ways of thinking can strengthen teams, improve problem-solving, and support better organizational outcomes.

This session is designed to be interactive and practical, offering employers an opportunity to reflect on their own workplaces, ask questions, and gain tools they can apply directly within their organizations.

The webinar is hosted by the Cape Breton Partnership and will be moderated and facilitated by Dani Mombourquette, RCIC- IRB, Immigration Engagement Coordinator, who will support discussion and participant engagement throughout the session.
