The purpose of this strategy is to outline the challenges facing local food businesses and the entire sector, and to identify the opportunities and potential solutions that will allow them to grow. In a world of rapidly-evolving food technologies and trends, Cape Breton food businesses must keep pace in order to stay relevant and in an effort to ensure their businesses are viable.

Based on consultations with producers, industry stakeholders and on the results of the Food Hub’s consumer survey, this strategy concludes with four key recommendations to grow the local food sector.
