Nova Scotia – Hurricane Fiona’s impact has been substantial throughout the Atlantic region, on both residents and businesses. To help develop the supports that businesses need the most, the local business community is being asked to share their experiences and needs.

Through discussions with both the Federal and Provincial governments on how best to provide support locally, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) are seeking input to help identify what type of business impacts and damages the region’s industries have been experiencing and continue to experience. To help organize this information, CME has developed a survey to better understand what types of support and resources will be needed for businesses to get back to operation, how extensive damage may impact employment longer term, and more.

Nova Scotia’s Regional Enterprise Networks are working with CME to help get this survey and resulting information to businesses across the province and encourage communities, organizations, Chambers of Commerce, and others to help businesses participate. The survey has 8 questions and is estimated to take no more than a few minutes to complete. Recognizing that many communities remain without electricity and/or internet connection, this survey will remain active until well after connection has been re-established to ensure all businesses have an opportunity to participate.

Both the Cape Breton Regional Enterprise Network (CRBEN) and Cape Breton Regional Municipality Regional Enterprise Network (CBRM REN) are active locally in the Cape Breton Region and are available to help businesses participate in this survey if needed.
