Request for Information (RFI): Organizational Growth Advisory Services

The Cape Breton Partnership is seeking submissions from qualified local professionals or firms to provide services on a contract-basis for a period of 90 days, with the possibility of extension.

All submissions will be kept on file to consider as needed for future organizational needs.

About the Cape Breton Partnership

The Cape Breton Partnership is Unama’ki – Cape Breton’s private sector-led economic development organization that supports companies and entrepreneurs by promoting our island as a great place to live, work, and invest; growing a culture that values and celebrates creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship; and connecting entrepreneurs and companies to the resources they need to succeed.

The Cape Breton Partnership is committed to supporting local where possible and will prioritize submissions made by persons/companies based in Unama’ki – Cape Breton.

Scope of Services

  1. Thoroughly study and understand the Cape Breton Partnership’s current Strategic Plan as adopted by the Board of Directors in 2024, organizational structure, staff needs, programming and contractual obligations, as well as its financial and other tangible and intangible strengths and resources
    1. Specifically evaluate the written and unwritten roles of recently departed long-standing staff persons to better understand the gaps their departure left.
  2. Provide advice and guidance to the CEO and senior leadership on a variety of topics including but not limited to:
    • Strategic Planning & Organizational Development;
    • Contract Stewardship & Financial Oversight;
    • Human Resources & Governance; and
    • Administrative Effectiveness & Process Improvement.

The selected provider must be available for regular in-person services at the Cape Breton Partnership’s Sydney office and potential travel to other Cape Breton Partnership Offices, though a hybrid approach with a mix of in-person and virtual availability is acceptable as the organization is a hybrid workplace with staff members based throughout Unama’ki – Cape Breton.

Fees

Please provide your proposed fee schedule for an initial 90-day service as described above, beginning May 5th, 2025.

Proposal

Submit a maximum 4-page proposal that includes but is not limited to:

  • Weekly time availability (full time, part time, in-person, virtual, etc.); an
  • A description of how you would provide the scope of services, including any specialized areas of expertise or unique capabilities.

Portfolio of Work

Provide examples of recent relevant projects you have been involved in, with a focus on how you helped an organization achieve greater team cohesion, effectiveness in its mission, organizational excellence, and confidence and pride in its work culture. Include brief descriptions of each project to highlight your role and the outcome achieved.

References

Include the names and contact information of at least two references who can speak to your reliability, quality of work, and professionalism.
