The Cape Breton Local Immigration Partnership (CBLIP) is hosting a series of dynamic and engaging events to gather community input on how Cape Breton welcomes and includes newcomers and to explore the areas where we can do better. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Launched in 2017, the CBLIP is a collaborative initiative designed to improve newcomer integration in Cape Breton by fostering a welcoming community. The initiative is administered by the Cape Breton Partnership and guided by the CBLIP Council – a group of 30 individuals representing local non-profits, businesses and municipalities across Cape Breton. Together, the Council works to:

  • Support community-level research and planning;
  • Improve the coordination of settlement and integration services; and
  • Raise awareness around the needs of newcomers.

In these community engagement events, the CBLIP will be asking communities across Cape Breton two key questions:

  • What is working in how newcomers are welcomed and included in this community?
  • What do we need more of in order to better welcome and include newcomers here?

Everyone is encouraged to attend and to add their voice to the conversation. Each event will run for two hours and will focus on discussion of these topics in small groups.

The input gathered from these events will contribute to the formation of the CBLIP Strategy – a set of community-identified priorities that will determine the focus and actions of the CBLIP moving forward.

Please RSVP to local.immigration@capebretonpartnership.com with your name, email address, and the date/location of the session you would like to attend.
