Cabotto Chocolates has grown by leaps and bounds, branded our product and added a partner. All of this is cause to celebrate and as we are able to produce more hand crafted, fine quality truffles, bars, and snacks in milk, dark and white chocolates we thought we would let the world know about us!
Join us on June 2nd for free samples and demonstrations on how we make our delicious chocolates!
Also joining us to celebrate is Pat Morris, a wildlife artist, who paints on feathers. She will be demonstrating her incredible talent during the Grand Opening.
Starting small in 2015 on the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton Penny Steele made hand crafted and painted truffles and bars made from the premium quality chocolate “Callebaut”. Her small tray of chocolates, inside the Colouratura Art Gallery were well received and the following year it became a small table of chocolates still all hand rolled and prepared by Penny Steele.
The stars aligned when in the winter of 2017 her sister, Deb Karn, decided to retire and move to Cape Breton to partner with Steele to enlarge the production options. Renamed Cabotto Chocolates, the Spirit of Adventure, in reference to the explorer John Caboto who was actually Giovani Caboto, an Italian who landed in the area and he became the namesake for the Cabot Trail.
Still creating all chocolates by hand from Bars to Truffles to Painted Fish Chocolates and Moose Munch the business is celebrating a Grand Opening with the new shop within a shop at the Colouratura Art Gallery in Indian Brook on the Cabot Trail.
