Board of Directors Call for Nominations


The Cape Breton Partnership brings together people who believe in the power of working together to increase economic opportunities and aims to transform Cape Breton • Unama’ki into the most creative and prosperous place on earth.

We support companies and entrepreneurs through our projects and initiatives by promoting our island as a great place to live and invest; growing a culture that values and celebrates creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship; and connecting entrepreneurs and companies to the resources they need to succeed.

The Cape Breton Partnership has over 150 investors committed to investing in Cape Breton’s future economic growth. Private sector support and collaboration remains a top priority for the Partnership and continues to be a driving force behind changing our local attitudes and transitioning the economy into a new era of prosperity.

If you are interested in contributing to the future direction of the Cape Breton Partnership, you are invited to submit a nomination or consider nominating someone who you believe could fill a role on the Partnership’s Board of Directors. The Cape Breton Partnership’s Board Governance Committee will review nominations that are submitted to the Partnership. Individuals who are selected as new Board Members will be notified before the Partnership’s annual Investor Summit, which will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Keltic Lodge at the Highlands.


  • Nominees must be an active Investor in the Cape Breton Partnership
  • Candidates must agree to make every effort to attend Partnership events and conferences
  • Nominees must be willing to commit to participating on the Board for three years
  • Candidates should be prepared to attend four Board meetings a year, plus an additional strategic planning session


The Cape Breton Partnership Board of Directors Governance Committee requests that all digital nomination forms must be submitted by email to Hard copies can be returned to 285 Alexandra Street, Sydney, Nova Scotia, B1S 2E8.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 6, 2019 at 4 p.m. Any nominations received after that date will not be taken into consideration.


There are a limited number of seats available on the Cape Breton Partnership Board of the Directors. All nominations will be reviewed in private by the Governance Committee, who will take industry and geographical representation into consideration when selecting new Board Members. The official announcement of the new slate of Directors will be made on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Cape Breton Partnership’s Investor Summit at the Keltic Lodge at the Highlands in Ingonish.
