CAPE BRETON REGIONAL ENTERPRISE NETWORK


The Cape Breton Regional Enterprise Network (CBREN) is a collaborative effort between the Province of Nova Scotia through the Department of Municipal Affairs and the Municipalities of Inverness, Richmond, and Victoria Counties. The Cape Breton REN activities are delivered by the Cape Breton Partnership with oversight from a private sector Board of Directors. The CBREN’s area of focus include regional economic development, championing business growth, leveraging local knowledge, and overseeing the management of the Land and Asset Database. The primary goal of the CBREN is to support the development and attraction of new businesses, and the retention and expansion of existing business.

The Prosperity Framework is Cape Breton’s multi-sector economic development strategy. The Framework’s success has been built on leveraging the resources, expertise, and capabilities of the region’s business community, infrastructure, public sector, not-for-profit organizations, and the labour force. With the guidance and support from local leaders, the Frame has provided a set of common priorities for the region that focus on helping businesses, public agencies, volunteer groups, and communities focus their investment and effort in order to make a positive difference for Cape Breton’s economy.
